Video Imaging Software

Patient Archive
- VideoCap software allows the physician to capture clinical, dermoscopic, capillaroscopic and histological images and associate them to the patient database. It is possible to create a personal data set of the patient and make complete record cards specific for the type of examination.
Anamnestic and Clinical Data Management
- The VideoCap sotware allows the physician to add optional information about the patient’s clinical history and familiar anamnesis. This section is fully customizable by the operator.
Check up Management
- The “check up management” function is thought to respond to the user’s personal requirements. Check ups are ordered by date and contain several images and information about the localization of lesions (clinical-anatomical mapping). All stored images are visualized as previews.
Check up Management
- Depending on the methodology adopted by the operator during the check up, the anatomical localization of each stored image is visualized.
Anatomical Mapping of Images
- Several mapping strategies are available in the software. It is possible to map the lesions upon selection, on an anatomical reference model or on a specific body area.
Clinical Data Management
- It is possible to associate to each image specific information about the objective examination the lesion, the clinical and dermoscopic diagnosis, the adopted magnification level, the histological diagnosis and the examination methodology. It is also possible to associate the clinical evaluation of each lesion (ABCD analysis).
Dermoscopic Pattern Management
- It is possible to perform a pattern analysis on each dermoscopic image by using one of the presetted algorhitms present in the software (Consensus Conference, Stolz, Seven Point Dermoscopy Score). The operator can further customize the evaluation methodology by adding personal pattern analysis tools.
Two Image Display
- It is possible to examine a single lesion by simultaneously viewing the clinical and dermoscopic image along with all clinical and dermatological data previously acquired.
Four Image Display
- It is also possible to simultaneously view up to four images of each lesion under investigation. This feature is of extreme usefulness when different magnifications have been taken of the lesion (10x, 20x, 50x).
Follow up
- The software allows the operator to perform a follow up evaluation by simultaneously viewing formerly acquired images and live images.
Image Processing Features
- VideoCap is equipped with a image processing software and several calculation features of image parameters.
Digital Filters
- Numerous digital filters are included with the software (grey level segmentation, watershed filter, 2D and 3D transposition).
Measuring Feature
- The software allows the physician to perform different measuring calculations on stored images (lenght, diameter, area).

- It is possible to apply grids on images for a more in-depth study of each lesion.
Measurement Feature. Symmetry Axes
- It is possible to apply symmetry axes on the image of the lesion in order to determine asymmetries in the lesion’s shape.
Automatical Measurement Features
- VideoCap automatically measures the total area and perimeter of the lesion on the captured image. All measurement data can be stored and associated with each image.
Measuring Features. Asymmetry Score.
- The software can automatically determine the asymmetry Score using the algorithm proposed by Professor Wilhelm Stolz.
Search Feature
- The search feature of the software allows the retrieval of information in the whole archive using key words. it is then possible to group all these in cathegories (gender, diagnosis, mapping, histological diagnosis, clinical and dermoscopic patterns)
Search Feature and Result Display
- Search results are immediately displayed along with images and information about the specific check up.
Printing Menu
- The operator can easily select which data include in the report print. It is possible to print different types of reports with up to 1, 2, 3 or 4 images of the same lesion or a follow up report of a single lesion.
Access to the Software
- The access to the software is possible with a user name and a private password.
Total Check up Management
- The software allows differential analysis of check ups based on date, body area, and single lesion.
